Shawn Hounsell

Shawn Hounsell

Originally from Saskatchewan, Shawn Hounsell is a Quebec-based teacher and choreographer who danced professionally with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal from 1989 to 2003.

An award-winning choreographer, Shawn has created and staged works for many of Canada’s leading ballet companies, as well as for companies in the United States and Europe. He is also highly sought after as a teacher, rehearsal director, and independent coach.

Mr. Hounsell has worked with several of Montreal’s most prominent contemporary dance companies and has lived in the city since 1995, which he is proud to call home.
