Romeo Figueroa

Born in El Salvador, Romeo has lived in Montreal since 1992. He has always been drawn to music, especially percussion and rhythm. Originally a musician, he plays drums, bass, and various percussion instruments. Dance came later, when his wife began teaching Cardio Latino classes. He joined her to support her and stayed because he enjoyed it.

In 2015, he took over the class and began teaching. Four years later, in September 2019, he completed his B1 (Basic 1) training and became a certified Zumba instructor. He later completed Take the Lead, Strong Nation, and Cue Like a Pro training, while also attending several workshops and master classes.

During the pandemic, he had the opportunity to collaborate with instructors from around the world. Zumba allows him to meet new people, share his passion for music and dance, stay active, have fun, and step away from the routine of everyday life.
