Solen Rios
Solen Rios
Originally from Mexico, Solen Rios is a movement artist, performer, choreographer, and teacher based in Montreal. The artistic world she develops is rooted in contemporary Latin American culture, blending dance with the exploration of current sounds such as pop, reggaeton, trap, R&B, salsa, house, and other influences from the Spanish-speaking world.
Having trained in a variety of dance styles ranging from ballet to hip-hop, as well as contemporary, heels, and waacking, her journey has led her to perform on stage and television in various professional settings, including the ADISQ Gala, Canada Day celebrations, and Montreal festivals such as Fuego Fuego and Fierté Montréal.
Her passion for teaching now leads her to create vibrant, dynamic spaces of learning that celebrate community, self-confidence, and uninhibited self-expression. Through her artistic research, she aims to highlight the Latinx queer community in Montreal and share part of her experience as a young immigrant woman in the commercial dance industry.
