Stability & Flexibility for Dancers
Stability & Mobility classes will blend techniques from yoga and fitness to help dancers strengthen their stabilizing muscles, improve their range of motion and improve their flexibility while maintaining proper alignment. By working on stability, mobility and flexibility, dancers reduce their probability for injury and become stronger both on and off the dance floor. Movement in dance is usually performed at a fast pace, without the time to think about muscle engagement, especially of the smaller muscles stabilizing our joints.
By strengthening these muscles, we teach them to fire and protect our joints from injury. Developing a broader range of motion while finding engagement and containment of the muscles will allow dancers to have longevity throughout their career.
