Kaia Portner

Kaia Portner (she/her) is a Montreal-based dancer and choreographic artist working on Tiohtià:ke, the unceded territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka Nation, in Quebec, Canada. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Dance Choreography from Concordia University and remains actively involved in Montreal’s contemporary dance scene.

As a performer, Kaia works professionally as a showgirl at various Montreal venues and has appeared in several music video projects for local artists. She has also worked as a movement director with the Montreal-based video production company Production Triskel. She continues her training with the heels company Aura Montréal and studies floorwork techniques with artist Victoria Mackenzie.

As a choreographer, Kaia has collaborated with Art Volt x POP Montréal to present her work at Entrepôt77 and has completed a residency at Concordia University to further develop her projects.
