Leah Danga

Leah Danga is a multidisciplinary artist based in Montreal, specializing in contemporary and traditional African dance, with a practice rooted in hip-hop and popping. Of Kenyan and Cameroonian descent, she grew up immersed in a rich cultural environment that fostered an early passion for movement and transmission.

She began her artistic journey with the group PROSPECTS in 2018, before joining the Afrodojo collective in 2020, where she developed a practice grounded in sharing, research, and the celebration of African and Afro-descendant cultures. A professional dancer for five to six years, Leah has performed on various local and international stages, notably at festivals and cultural events.

Alongside her performance career, she is actively involved in education, teaching classes and workshops in schools, colleges, and universities, and facilitating spaces for reflection around art, the body, and culture. Her artistic work explores the connections between heritage, identity, and community, guided by the belief that human experiences intersect beyond differences.
